EDITORIAL POLICY OF THE JOURNAL


GOALS

1. To publish results of research and projects, concerning:
• the current state and prospects of development of law, legal science and legal practice;
• the problems and difficulties hindering the development of the legal system;
• the concrete ways of solving (overcoming) these problems and difficulties.
2. To promote St. Petersburg State university’s researchers in law.
3. To contribute the co-operation between St. Petersburg State university’s and other Russian and foreign researchers in law.

OBJECTIVES

1. To present results of fundamental and applied researches of Russian law and legal practice, including interdisciplinary and comparative researches.
2. To present results of scientific analysis of some significant cases or events in legal sphere as well as analytical reviews of legislation and application of laws.
3. To enlighten the history and the current state of legal science and legal education.
4. To introduce the Russian readership with the basic institutions of foreign law, legal foundations and legal practice in foreign countries and also the main achievements of international researchers in law.
5. To introduce the foreign readership with the basic institutions of Russian law, legal foundations and legal practice in Russia and also the main achievements of Russian researchers in law.
6. To inform of the life of both scientific and professional legal communities.

BASIC PRINCIPLES

1. The editorial board’s personal responsibility for achieving the journal’s goals and objectives.
2. High demands on the authorship, relevance, originality, theoretical and / or practical significance, quality and reliability of publications.
3. The editorial boards’ and reviewers’ conscientiousness and responsibility for compliance with the ethics rules of publishing, reviewing and editing publications.
4. Authors’ conscientiousness and responsibility for compliance with the rules of the preparation of manuscripts and publication ethics.
5. Young researchers’, post-graduate and doctoral students’ publication activity support.

LEGAL FRAMEWORK

1. Universal Copyright Convention of 1952 (as amended at Paris on 24 July 1971).
2. Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works of 1886 (as amended at Paris on September 28, 1979).
3. Convention establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (signed at Stockholm on July 14, 1967 and as amended on September 28, 1979).
4. WIPO Copyright Treaty (adopted in Geneva on December 20, 1996) and Agreed Statements Concerning the WIPO Copyright Treaty.
5. Russian copyright legislation (Ch. 69, 70 of the Civil Code, Art. 145, 146 of the Criminal Code, Art. 7.12 of the Administrative Code).
