Summary | The article contains an analysis of differences between the classification of soils of 1977 and 2004. The article proves the necessity of developing a new classification of soils. The new classification structure is provided with the definition of the classification categories, the structure of divisions, the list of postlithogenic, sinlithogenic and organic soils. As exemplified by the boreal belt, the correlation between the 1977 and the 2004 classification is given. Based on the authors research, it is suggested to distinguish the number of soils discovered within the esker landscapes of the north-east of the Karelian Isthmus. | ||
