Summary | The article looks at the phenomenon of washback (or backwash) and basic principles of impact that high-stakes tests have on curricula and teaching methods. The problem of �teaching to the test� is under consideration as well as its negative influence on learning process and devastating effects of inappropriate use of high-stakes tests. The author describes possible ways to decrease their negative infl uence on learning process. | ||
