Summary The results of the 4th International conference �Education and educational psychology� (4th International Conference on Education & Educational Psychology - ICEEPSY 2013) are presented in the paper. It provides an analytical review of reports, which allows to make conclusions about trends of development of psychological and pedagogical research in education. The active study of education specialists' psychological features (self-efficacy, self-organization, professional consciousness, reflection) dominates as a general tendency. The research in the field of e-learning can be regarded as innovative. The key conference topics were as folloing: education of teachers, educational psychology, education and technologies. Together they reflect challenges of the present: the role of information technologies and the Internet in development of personality, potential risks and threats of uncontrolled information and educational environment, competition of classical and innovative teaching influences. t also includes a review of teachers' reports of Department of psychology and pedagogy of personal and professional development (faculty of psychology, Saint-Petersburg State University) which were made in the framework of scientific study �students research potential� (cognitive, motivational-value and social aspects).
